Pre-School

Pre-School

Welcome to our preschool, which is a part of Wellesley Park Primary School. Our aim is to provide a welcoming, friendly and safe setting, where your child can flourish. We intend to support all children in developing important skills that will set them on the road for a happy and successful life. We offer term time care and education to children aged two years old up until Reception age.

Our setting provides the children with a stimulating environment within which to learn, with large open spaces to explore whilst also providing cosy areas to feel safe and secure. Our team of highly skilled practitioners work closely with our children and their families to develop trusting relationships and to support children in their learning.

At Wellesley Park Explorers we share the same 3 core visions as the school:

  • Every Child Achieves

  • Every Child belongs

  • Every Child participates

Children’s self-confidence is nurtured as a priority from the early years. Interactions and the relationships established between practitioners and children consistently reinforce this approach across the preschool. Children are encouraged to ‘have a go’ and become active in their own learning.

Our prospectus will give you lots of information that you need to decide whether Wellesley Park Explorers is the right setting for your child. However, we know that often the best way to know this is to visit us! We encourage you to ring and arrange a visit to come and see our high-quality provision for yourself.

Learning through play and our curriculum

The preschool at Wellesley Park Explorers has dedicated rooms and outdoor space accommodated within the grounds of Wellesley Park School. It has been designed to create a stimulating, nurturing and safe environment where young children can play, make friends and grow in confidence. Your child will learn about themselves, each other and their wider world, through purposeful play activities. Reading, writing and maths are important aspects of our preschool curriculum, tailored to meet your child’s needs. At Wellesley Park Explorers, special attention is paid to your child’s emotional wellbeing, where each child learns about feelings and emotions through stories, circle time and imaginative play.

Each child is allocated a key worker who will be there to support your child on a more personal level – emotionally, socially, physically and academically – as well as being your point of contact with our preschool Wellesley Park Explorers accepts children from 2 years until they commence formal schooling.

Please be advised admission to Wellesley Park Explorers does not guarantee a place at Wellesley Park Primary School. The normal school admission process applies for admission to Wellesley Park Primary School. Parents/carers will still need to apply for a place in the reception year at school at the appropriate time.
