We’re delighted to welcome you and your child/ren to Wellesley Park Primary School, as part of our new Reception cohort! We know that this is a very exciting time for children and parents alike and we very much look forward to meeting you all.
Starting school is a big event for all children and it may take some getting used to. It is a new experience, and it is quite normal for your child to feel all different sorts of emotions. They may feel excited, nervous, worried or reluctant. All of these emotions are okay.
At Wellesley Park Primary School, we believe that happiness is the key to success. Our children work within a happy and caring environment where their individual needs are met and talents nurtured. Our aim is that all of our children enjoy success whilst at primary school. Therefore, we set high expectations which enable our children to reach their full potential in all aspects of the school curriculum, as well as being provided with an education appropriate to the world beyond the classroom.
As a school, we value the wellbeing of all children and see it as a foundation to their learning. Below are a range of really helpful resources which we recommend you look at to help you and your child to feel more confident about starting school and to ease any uncertainties you or they may have.
Hot School Meals
When Does My Child Start?
Application forms for Universal Free School Meals will be sent to all parents/carers as part of our welcome pack. Completing this form currently entitles your child to free hot school dinners during Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. We recommend signing up even if you think your child may not want hot school dinners, just in case you change your mind in the future. Once completed please return it to the school office.
Meals will begin on Monday 8th September - the menu for this week will be shared with you as part of our welcome pack for you to return prior to the summer holidays. You will be able to make meal choices on our school online payment system, ParentPay from Monday 8th September.
The Autumn term begins on Wednesday 3rd September 2025. A letter will be sent home with the details.
